"He's seen it all. At least it feels that way. He's got the weight of the franchise on his shoulders, yet he's willing to share the load with his teammates. There appears to be little ego and tons of confidence. He's the unquestioned leader and he knows it. And he just turned 21.
Durant surveys the level landscape of prairie around Oklahoma City with matching perspective. He's The Man and still acts like a kid. After a recent workout, he spent the rest of the day playing X-Box with two equally young-at-heart teammates Russell Westbrook and James Harden.
Still, he's feeling like the Thunder's grizzled vet after just two years.
The organization does, too. Just not as far as a year ago. Thunder players and coaches are ahead of the game this time around. Instead of relocating halfway across the country, moving into a new arena and new homes, changing the team name and colors, now it's just basketball.
Head coach Scott Brooks, an assistant during the first Oklahoma City training camp, is in charge from day one. The challenge of developing a better basketball team, with Durant as the hub, is the single most important mission for Brooks, general manager Sam Presti and the front office.
As much publicity as Durant gets on the team that gets very little, he's hardly the only piece to build around. Jeff Green and Russell Westbrook came into their own last season, joining forces with Durant as OKC's three-headed (and juvenile) monster."
Who can tell that this guy is not better than Lebrom? The NBA can be impartial and just show the things how they really are!!! I think lebrom is a good player but he does have a lot of helps from hes teammates, and Durant does it all by his self! Durant still have a lot to improve, but he is showing that a young guy that have a lot of talent and can be the league best player now and in the future...and he all ready showed at NCAA in he's only year at Longhorns!!!! Named Player of the year!!! see ya!!!
